Coaching Day 3 - "Esher Come Dine With Me!"

Early Starts and 7 Hour Day By Mr Taylor

Well I bet you don't want to hear my blog as you are waiting for the one (or two blogs) from son or daughter, but we all have to do a diary entry, no exceptions, so here it is.
The pupils have been excellent, working together in teams of six which split into teams of two who then have to teach/train with 20 Zambian pupils.  We had spent the first 2 days visiting 12 new schools!  Whilst we were training another new school a deputy head approached us and asked if we could train their pupils.
So we are running 3 tournaments.  The first tournament on Friday is with 7 schools, on Saturday it is with 12 schools!  So far as we know!  Each school will provide between 2-4 teams (10 pupils per team).
I said earlier they have been excellent, well they have been having to deal with 4 hour 'shift' in the morning and a 2 hour 'shift' in the afternoon, it has come as quite a shock with early starts (8am start at the grounds which means a 7am breakfast).  They have worked constantly as there have been more children than I recall we had to deal with 2 years ago......And we haven't got to the tournaments.  They are mixing working and supporting each other.  A real credit!

My Birthday By Georgie Taylor

It was about 6am when Ava woke me by singing Happy Birthday and the nicest card (although I did prefer the Bruno Mars alarm she'd set).  Our morning was no different to any other, out coaching at 8am on the police grounds.  Ava and I were so tired after we'd arrived back to the camp for lunch, we passed out and nearly missed our bus to the last session!
Funnily enough, I had the most problematic children I've had so far I was working with Libby and the majority of our group were lovely, but a few really did try and push our buttons (I could of seen steam coming out of Libbys' ears).  After the training session, I was swarmed by 20 excited kids and managed to escape on to the bus.
For dinner we made a spag-bol in a mini master chef competition - waiting to find out who won right now (probably us).  We're about to go for a meeting in the bar, so I'll end it here (If we won insert here).
Love you all and miss you all so much, Mum, Dad, Lucy, William and Grandma xx
P.S
Just to let you know Diana, Libby is a pro-chef and not too bad at cleaning!

Come Dine With Me / Masterchef / Great British Menu

Four teams of six teenagers, menu planning, shopping, barbecue and two gas rings ..... what could possibly go wrong!!!
Nothing actually!  Yes Georgie you were right, Head Chef Libby and her team produced a great meal that was the winner with all the judges .... so good we finished it off!
