Tournament Day 3 Chainda

The tough schedule continued with our third event. During our time in Lusaka we have organised events where over 1,000 children have participated - a record for Esher and Tag Rugby!!

Olly – East tournament
Good morn to all the fellow human beings of the world. Me and my merry band of comrades set sail for our last tournament of the Lusaka leg today. As we dispatched from the mother ship in the Horrod mobile and Taylor wagon, we were set for an extremely entertaining and sad last day in our final day in Lusaka. As Chainda swept through the tournament (or tourney) to win not only the under but also the over sections of our courageous tourney. As we set sail back from our intrepid tourney to the mother ship in the Taylor Wagon and Horrod mobile we were overjoyed with how the day had turned out. As we arrived home we were set to relax, however the elders had other ideas. After a good 2 hours of hard manual labour we settled down for dinner. Then after final goodbyes to Akim we returned to the bar then bed.







Joe Williams – Tournament East – last day in Eureka
Hello to all in the northern hemisphere. We beat the sun out of bed this morning, leaving base at 6am. We cruised through the streets of East Lusaka with tremendous ease. We touched down at the rugby tournament situated in Chainda and as the tournament progressed we were intrigued to who became victorious. The final, officiated by Jo Pete (Lord I don’t know why) was an engaging game. The Taylor wagon carried us back like a sturdy stallion. We got back and cleaned until our humble abode was spotless due to Jo Pete. Bags are loaded, goodbyes to our dear Akim Kabemba and we are awaiting to open a new chapter in our voyage.

    Safe travels all. Lovely to read about today. I know you all kept the place spotless during the week, so cleaning up should have been a minor chore (or not)šŸ¤£

Last day of training and Victoria Falls!! (and another candle lit dinner!)

Victoria Falls By Eva Roberts After being woken up by the sound of the church bells we had breakfast and headed out to coach for the final time.  When we arrived, all the amazing kids were raring and ready to go, all trying their hardest to be picked for the final tournament.  The kids were so cute and even though being exhausted I loved every second of it. After saying goodbye to the kids, we then headed back to the hotel and ate some lovely cheese rolls (my fave).  We then set off to Victoria Falls and on our way saw a family of elephants.  When we arrived we were greeted by some cheeky baboons trying to steal our stuff.  We then looked around the little markets and of course I bought a lot of things I do not need!  We then made our way down to Victoria Falls through the most beautiful rainforest over all the rocks (Mum would not have enjoyed it!!).  We then saw the bottom of the waterfall and even paddled in th...

Livingstone Tournament , the last one!! Zambezi River Cruise

Tournament Day By Hal Williams Hello all, today was an early start as our dorm woke up at 5.40am because of the wrong alarm!  We got to the rugby pitches at 7.30, the teams slowly rolled in and around 20 teams turned up.  We reffed until around 1.30 and gave our second polo shirts to the winners and gave all the spare kit to the schools.  We had classic cheese/ham sandwiches and at 3.45 we traveled to the sunset cruise and ate food and got to see crocodiles, hippos and elephants.  The views were stunning and the trip was different, but enjoyable experience.
